One new academic member is also the Nnandi Azikiwe University whose
representative Joel Ikbogwe got the membership certificate from
President Holger Magel.
During the conference FIG got also a new corporate member from Saudi
Arabia, Dr. Sultan AlSultan represented the Remote Sensing Center
of Environment Consulting.
The highlight of the second session was the voting on the venue of FIG
2010 - representatives of Romania...
... and Nigeria and Poland giving their votes.
After exciting moments the winner was announced...
... and the winner is Sydney. The Australian delegates receiving
congratulations from their competitors and supporters.

For the second time a part of the General Assembly was dedicated to
discussion between the member associations and commission officers. This
time the podium was given to the Chairs Elect of all ten Commissions.

The next FIG Regional Conference will be organised in Havana, Cuba in
September 2005. The representatives of the 5th FIG Regional Conference
in Ghana in March 2006 were already active in welcoming all participants
to Accra.
Dr. Ben Kwesi Prah, President of GhIS welcomed President Magel to
Ghana in a traditional way - Akwaaba!
The Ghanaian delegation welcomed also the Commission chairs to Accra -
here together with Matt Higgins.
President's Meeting
The traditional President's meeting attracted almost 50 people on
Thursday morning and even if the time was extended to two hours the
participants asked for a longer meeting next time.
Council and ACCO meetings
Before the FIG Council meeting the FIG and GSDI Councils met together
and discussed the arrangements of the conference.
